So today was a banner day. I started the morning by over sleeping. No biggie...I am late most mornings anyway...they laugh if I am on time...they ask me what's wrong if I am early.
So being that I was already late, I took the extra time to get all of Jay's extra clothes together, making sure everything actually matched. At some point during my routine of getting Jay dressed I left his extra set of clothes upstairs next to his changing table. Of course I don't realize this till I get to daycare (30 minutes away from the house). No biggie! I just called Johnathan to see if he would bring them to me at lunch. I figured I could take them to the school then before Jay woke up from his nap...which seems to be when he needs them.
So I continued my trek to work, on the phone with my mom talking about the weekend and all the fun stuff we did. I finally reach work and end my call. Somewhere between ending the call, getting my lunch, purse, ID badge and phone I somehow managed to lock my keys in the car. GREAT! Of course I don't realize this until halfway in the building. Still...no biggie. Johnathan can just bring me my extra set when he brings me Jay's clothes. Still an okay day. I even walked outside just to make sure I didn't drop them by the car.
So I go about my day as normal; meetings, phone calls, chatting with friends. Johnathan calls about 1 and says he is on his way with my keys and Jay's clothes. I told him to hurry as I had a meeting at 1:30. I head outside to meet him and grab my keys and thank him. I head over to my car since I have time before the meeting to put the clothes away.
Here is where the day sprials downhill...as I head to the car I notice a friend looking in my car. Great...something weird is in my car. Maybe he is laughing at the fact that my keys are in the ignition. Nope....he is laughing at the fact that my car is RUNNING!!! 4 hours! My gas light was on and I think my car was definitely about to die. So apparently...because I haven't been able to hear anything out of my right ear for 2 weeks now...I failed to notice that my car was running when I went to look for my keys.
Of course I turned my car off, laughed with my friend and headed to my meeting. In the meeting I am still in disbelief of what I have done and am trying to figure out if I have enough gas left to get to the only gas station on Daniel Island. My friend laughs and said she would come get me if I get stranded on the side of the road. Thank God I did have enough. But still...it was a pretty rotten Tuesday...I think I liked Monday better.
