Someone once asked me what I do with all the money I save with my coupons. I didn't really have a good answer for them. The lady I talked to said that she rolled it over into more groceries. I told her I guess I would use if for daycare.
I have now changed my mind....Not by choice. Tonight is a Jay and mommy night. Johnathan had to go to an event with is day honoring his grandfather that just passed away. Johnathan had just left the house when I called him so Jay could say bye bye again. Johnathan asks me, 'when was the last time you were in the freezer?' I have know idea the last time I was in there! Sunday we were out of town. Saturday I was hunting eggs and Friday I was at church. So it has been at least three days.
Well...someone was in there...and didn't shut the door all the way.
SOoooooooooooooooo...back to the original question, "what do I do with all the money I save with my coupons on groceries? I will now be buying new groceries to replace the old groceries that have long since defrosted. I had 4 pork tenderloins in there! I don't know how much chicken breasts, 2 whole chickens and lots for frozen veggies and french fries. Even my prized Graeter's Ice Cream has fallen victim to the evils of garage heat!!! Seriously! Why does this always happen to me! :) So now I will be spending the evening clipping more coupons and getting ready for some shopping at Publix this weekend. Maybe I should put one of those alarms on the freezer that goes off when it doesn't close all the way. Do they make those? At least I had a stash of corn and chicken nuggets in the inside refrigerator! Otherwise I would have had a minor revolt on my hands from a very hungry 2-year-old!

Tired Mommy!
Ugh! I was definitely not ready for the alarm to go off this morning. The Huguley's had a full weekend of fun. We needed a break from our weekend! But we still had a bunch of fun.
The weekend started with daddy and Jay night on Friday night...Okay...mommy really just ditched the boys to hang out with her 2 favorite Beccas but it sounds better when I say they had Daddy and Jay night! Daddy and Jay mowed the lawn and played basketball. And then went and got Zaxby's. Jay ate two chickens strips and stole most of daddy's fried mushrooms. Normally I don't like him to eat that much junk, but I was having my own girls night so at that point I didn't really care as long as he ate, got a bath and was in bed by the time I got home! Mommy went to Brixx in Mount Pleasant and had pizza and wine with Becca D. and Becca J. It was yummy and nice to catch up with friends without worrying if pizza was going to 'accidently' be thrown across the table. We ended the evening by going to see THE THORN at Seacoast. It was the most amazing production I have ever seen. I cannot even begin to describe it. I would call it a cross between cirque de solei meets the Passion of the Christ. It was moving and awesome and heart wrenching all at the same time. Of course Becca J. and I kept thinking one of the Roman soldiers was going to grab us from behind. They were kinda scary. Highly recommend it! Everyone in my family (except Jay) better mark their calendar because we are all going to see it!
So after getting home at midnight from Mount Pleasant, Jay was up & at 'em by 8:30. I guess he was excited about his first Easter Egg hunt! He had so much fun. He found 36 eggs. Would have found more but I was scared other kids weren't getting enough. It went much better than I thought. I had visions of him running over little kids and screaming 'MINE MINE.' But that didn't happen. He was with his Mimi and on his best behavior! He kept informing us of what color each egg was. I am so proud that Jay has learned all of his colors! We weren't quite sure about that big, giant fuzzy thing. The Easter Bunny is now on the same list as Santa: you can bring Jay all the presents you want but he still isn't going to sit in his/its lap for a picture! So we ended the outing at McDonald's with the Mappus/Cross family. Wonderful morning!
After naptime we headed to Easter Church services. Yep! We went the night before to beat the crowd! It was a great service and Jay loved the children's room. He had a snack and made a cross with stickers. But the teachers were laughing mostly about the fact that for almost thirty minutes...Jay was obsessed with the basketball hoop in the toy area. (Jay is obsessed with basketball). We left Church and went to dinner (OUTBACK) where a really scary man made Jay a ballon ELMO. Since when did restaurants start hiring people to walk around the dining room making balloon animals? Anyway! He scared the daylights out of Jay and ELMO had to sit next to daddy at dinner.
Jay got his first big boy Easter basket on Sunday. His favorite part was the ball that grandma got him. He wasn't too worried about the bendy bunnies, the cute duck, all the candy or the fishing game. Nope...just wanted to play with the ball. Oh well! Daddy had fun putting together the ELMO legos that Mimi got Jay...I am a little worried that Jay is traumatized by the balloon guy and his ELMO. He wasn't too interested in the legos. We went to Conway (johnathan's grandparents) and had an amazing lunch as usual! I LOVE going to Conway. Everything is homemade and yummy! (It doesn't hurt that everything is also cooked in bacon grease!) Jay had so much fun walking around outside with Granddaddy and looking for the eggs that Aunt Vanessa hid for him. He even took a trip to Granddaddy's old store with Vanessa and came back with a sucker! Jay's favorite! He slept most of the way home he was so tuckered out!
We ended the weekend with a little bit of Wonder Pets and Wow Wow Wubbzy. None of us were ready to start the week but we are looking forward to the weekend! Hopefully the weekend doesn't involve as much candy! Hopefully I will find more coupons for the big sale at Publix! Gotta start clipping! Woo Hoo!

Where's my raincoat?!?!!?
Awesome! Jay is adjusting well in his new room at daycare. Lots of new fun toys to play with, he is back with his older friends and he is learning all sorts of new words. He amazes me everyday with the new SENTENCES he says to me. My favorite was when he told he, 'No Mommy!I'm not finished playing,' when I said it was time to go while we were visiting Mimi's. He comes home and tells Daddy (and his duckie) that he missed them and then gives Lucy (the dog) a hug. He is turning into such a sweet and caring little boy. Not my baby anymore!
The biggest adjustment for Jay though is my favorite part of his new room...potty training! This is wonderful. The thought of not buying diapers is mind boggling! Just think of all that extra money. Of course, I am assuming all that 'extra' money is now going to be spent on more laundry detergent, plastic sheets, and all the spiderman underwear that Jay can imaging.
So last night, Jay and I ventured to the Wally World or as Melanie (my stepmother) calls it, "HELL ON EARTH." We already have an ELMO potty upstairs in Jay's bathroom. But I figured we would need one for downstairs as well. So Jay picked out his big boy potty seat! This one also has ELMO...I was scared he was going to go for the pink and purple one but he chose the Elmo one with Bert and Ernie in the bathtub. Anyway! We then went and picked out 'training' underwear for him to take to daycare once he gets this potty thing down! Good deal. We are set. Man that stuff is expensive!
So we continue our trek through Wally World (aka Hell on Earth) as various items jump into my cart. (I swear things actually grow legs and randomly jump into my cart...or at least that is what we tell daddy when he looks at the receipts!) Juice boxes, summer shorts for Jay, Easter Candy for Jay's class, an All YOU magazine for me (gotta get my coupons)and stuff like that.
We head to the fabric department. Note to self: don't bring Jay to the fabric department in Wally World. I was looking for some cute material to make a friend some bandanas. 'FROG FROG FROOOOOOOOOOOOOOG!!!' screams the two-year-old while trying to jump out of the cart. People are staring at me like I am beating the child! Jay has seen the cutest fabric with frogs, turtles and grasshoppers. Soooooo...I will now be sewing Jay a new blankie and a pillow (he requested a new pillow)for his Easter basket. I really hope I can get it all down! It really is cute though. I will have to post a pick for sure!
Now...One thing I did not buy at Wally World (aka Hell on Earth) was a rain jacket. I should have. Note to self: buy a rain jacket! Jay decided he needed to go potty while we were playing basketball in the bathtub. (doesn't everyone play basketball in the tub?!?!) So we are sitting on our potty, reading a book (like all big boys do on the potty) when eureka! The Fountain of Youth! Only one problem...it wasn't making it in the potty. But hey! We were sitting on the potty! It counts! Mommy just needed to change her clothes...so I am thinking I should get a cool rain jacket and leave it on the hook in the bathroom. Maybe one with frogs on it!
